Going Green : Serving the Planet & Humanity in the Dying & Death Processes
Saturday, May 13th from 10:00am - 12:00pm | Total Participants: 12
Led by Amy Rush
Join St. Louis-based death doula Amy Rush for her second Chakra offering exploring the spectrum of environmentally sustainable, ethical and compassionate deathcare choices. Amy explores the green burial rights available to each of us — all of which help heal humans and the planet. By tracing the overarching history of our culture’s practices around deathcare, she gives attendees an informed context for what challenges and opportunities present themselves today within dying and death and helps us better understand the current options available to fulfill our individual goals for a greener death.
Within the container of Going Green, Amy highlights how to intentionally and meaningfully work with deathcare options now and “when the time comes”. Through learning about the greener rights and choices available to Missouri and Illinois residents specifically, attendees obtain creative and inspirational ideas for working with remains to memorialize our loved ones in comforting, beautiful, and sustainable ways.
Participants leave with a robust foundation of knowledge and resources for choosing greener deathcare. In turn, attendees begin to establish a supportive framework for integrating their newfound understandings — with the end goal of making both empowered and confident choices, becoming competently able to help loved ones do the same.
