Know Thyself: An Introduction to Ayurveda with Andrew Nunberg, PhD of Hands, Heart & Soul
Sunday, January 14th from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Total Participants: 10 | Led by Andrew Nunberg, PhD
Ayurveda is a tradition of wisdom that has been practiced for thousands of years in South Asia from as far west as Afghanistan to as far east as Indonesia. Its aim is “swasthasya swasthya rakshanam aturasya vikara prashamanam cha” to guard the health of a healthy person and to eliminate disease from a sick person. Ayurveda’s strength is in its ability to customize guidance based on the unique circumstances of each individual.
Ayurveda is based on knowledge of the 5 elements (space, air, fire, water, earth) and how these elements combine in different ways to create the natural world and the various forces therein. With this knowledge we can better understand our own mind/body’s tendencies and affinities to minimize imbalance and maximize health and happiness.
In this workshop, attendees gain insight into:
1) How to identify our own Ayurvedic constitution and signs of imbalance
2) How to customize our daily routine to match our constitution
3) How to better manage our own mind/emotions
4) How to use the breath to center ourselves
5) How to identify and better understand your personal Dosha
