Waiting to Exhale: Bi-Weekly Somatic Breathwork Group Sessions for Integration, Release & Wellbeing with Julia Richardson

Every Other Wednesday from 6:00pm - 7:30pm | Total Participants: 10
Led by Julia Richardson

Waiting to exhale? Us too. We think we know how to breathe, but many of us could benefit greatly from an introduction to the power of breath. Breathwork is a practice involving conscious & intentional control of one’s breathing patterns to improve physical, mental & emotional wellbeing. It is based on the idea that the way we breathe can affect our physiological & psychological state, and that by changing our breathing patterns, we can positively impact our health & wellbeing.

Benefits of breathwork include: stress reduction, improved focus & concentration, increased energy/vitality & increased quality of sleep. In this bi-weekly offering, Julia guides attendees through personal journeys/experiences of release & consciousness alteration.

Julia notes that each session will be different & that your body will only release what it is ready to let go of at this time. The session environment includes music & guided meditation/techniques including short intentional breath-holds for maximized expression/release.

Items to Bring: Please bring an additional yoga mat, water bottle & notebook or journal to record any experiences/takeaways. As with all Chakra offerings, we recommend dressing in comfortable layers to ensure you can find your optimal body temperature during your session.

NOTE: If you are pregnant do not do breathwork. If you have irregular heart rate issues and/or blood pressure issues and are not on meds to treat these conditions, a  history of seizures or aneurysms, are on any heavy duty medications, or if you have been diagnosed with severe mental health issues, please consult a physician before attending. If you have asthma, bring your inhaler.

** Reserving a spot for this session serves as acknowledgement that you understand this & are participating at your own risk. **
